Detailed Description
We are very pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to join us on a residential writer’s camp event at Muddy Road Studios at the end of the academic year. We are offering this experience to all year 1 L3 Music students.
This residential will include three days of studio time at a state-of-the-art professional recording studio located in the Blackdown Hills in Somerset and will provide an inspiring, creative environment for songwriting, collaboration, recording and performance work.
This trip will also offer an invaluable work experience opportunity, for anyone looking to go into songwriting, session musician work, studio engineering or production roles in the future and will provide students the chance to immerse themselves in the creative process without the usual restrictions of the college timetable and transport.
The students will be encouraged to write, record, and collaborate on original material over the three days and have the opportunity to work closely with a professional artist and producer from the studio well as some of the staff from the music course. The studio also boasts a broad range of creative spaces and vintage instruments including drums, guitars, and high-end recording equipment amplifiers that the students will have full access to over the duration of the trip. There will also be an evening performance where students will have the opportunity to showcase their work. The link to the Muddy Road website is https://www.muddyroad.co.uk/
